RAIZVANGUARDA – Associação Cultural, 2015-2019 - Portugal
Leading on the organisational strategy, and working with the team to deliver a year round art and cultural programme of activities in Gois, Central Portugal and internationally in collaboration with artists and cultural institutions across the EU and wider regions. This includes devising an international Artists in Residency Programme, Erasmus+ youth exchanges, exhibitions, film screenings, concerts, performances and key projects supported by the European Cultural Foundation, MitOst and Gulbenkian Foundation in Ukraine, Armenia, and Italy.
A key part of my work in the organisation between 2018/19 will be to develop projects exploring how we as people connect to our spaces, be it our physical homes, workplaces, social spaces etc; how they affect our mental health & wellbeing, socialisation and in some cases isolation; and how art/artists can explore this within the communities in which we/they reside. There will be a key focus on comparisons/parallels between rural and urban spaces, and how those from diverse backgrounds experience these spaces.
